After a long and sometimes frustrating process the Sinai Village project was funded by IHDA last week and construction is set to begin. It was a vision of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church to start a ground up development in East St. Louis to replace the neighborhood around the Church with new quality housing stock. The process started several years ago when a new Apartment for Seniors was built across from the church and is continuing with 30 new single family houses being built on property at Martin Luther King Drive and 13th Street. This new development will consist of 20 one story and 10 two story single family residences. The homes will have fenced yards with a community playground in the center of the development. Plans have already begun for additional phases to continue the plan to develop the neighborhood. Altman Charter has assisted the owner throughout the process as a member of the development team. We are committed to the project and have worked for many years to see this development become a reality.
