The Salvation Army and Department of Housing and Urban Development have come together to help fill a need for low income housing in the City of Tyler. Once complete this 72 Unit Senior apartments for the elderly will be owned and managed by the Salvation Army. HUD is providing the funding thru a grant program called a HUD 202 program. The Salvation Army hired Altman-Charter early in the development process to help ensure the available funding was maximized to achieve their local program needs. Along with the project architect, Altman-Charter, as part of the development "TEAM" produced several preliminary cost estimates and reviewed development drawings to insure the project was up to the owner's quality expectation. We are under construction and will have the project ready for a ribbon cutting ceremony in the spring of 2011.
